9 year-old Hannah Katz had an outstanding meet, and is one of the most improved swimmers on the team.  Some of Hannah's highlights include a 31.63 in the 50 free, 1:18.77 in the 100 back, and 2:55.02 in the 200 I.M.
 
11 year-olds Hannah Scobee, Randi Katz, and Maire Casey had great meets, and should be right up there next year when they are 12.  Hannah had all best times, including a 2:07.15 in the 200 free, 5:33.75 in the 500, 2:22.96 in the 200 back, and 2:25.54 in the 200 I.M.  In addition to her other swims.  Randi went 5:46.37 in the 500 free, 2:31.95 in the 200 fly, and 2:25.84 in the 200 I.M., while Maire swam a 5:38.80 in the 500 free, 2:39.30 in the 200 breast, 2:26.74 in the 200 I.M. and 2:28.65 in the 200 fly.
 
12 year-old Alex Pascal's highlights include first place finishes in the 100 fly (1:01.77) and the 200 fly (2:16.78).  Alex also swam an impressive 2:02.89 in the 200 free and will be representing Connecticut in the upcoming Eastern Zone Championships.
 
In the 13/14 age group, Morgan Lee did lifetime bests in several events including the 100 fly (1:07.98), 100 breast (1:11.95), and 200 I.M. (2:24.78).  Chloe Scobee did lifetime bests in the 1000 and 1650 free as well as contributing in the relays, and Sam Marshall, who aged up just prior to the meet, had a memorable moment at finals with a come-from-behind victory in consolation finals of the 200 fly with a 2:20.36  Sam trailed by three seconds at the 100 but came back to win her heat.
 
Our 15-18's swam well all weekend.  One of the nicest surprises was Natalie Mazzetta's victory in the 200 back with a time of 2:07.55.  Swimming an "off-event" Natalie dropped 5 seconds from her previous best time and is now ranked as one of the top backstrokers in CT.  Natalie also chipped in with a victory in the 500 free with a strong time of 4:59.72.  Sara Gardocki dominated the distance events, easily winning the 1000 and 1650 frees by a margin of 25 seconds in each.  Sara posted strong times of 10:24.03 and 17:21.98.  Melanie Pascal showed her versatility by winning both IM events (2:11.23 in the 200 and 4:36.44 in the 400) while also dropping 5 seconds off her lifetime best in the 500 free, with a time of 5:06.90.  As always, Kelby Zimmerman outswam the field in both breaststroke events, winning the 100 with a time of 1:06.85 and the 200 with a time of 2:23.31.  Kellen O'Gara added depth to our team effort with strong swims in the 200 fly (2:16.37) and 100 free (56.96).
 

On the boys side, Keith Nystrom won both breaststroke events with times of 1:01.89 in the 100 and 2:16.10 in the 200.  Keith also swam lifetime bests in the 200 I.M. (2:05.44), 400 I.M (4:30.82) and 100 fly (56.11), as well as splitting 51+ in our 400 free relay.  Andy Levine's highlights include strong swims in the 500 free (5:11.12), the 1650 free(17:53.55) and the 200 breast (2:26.84).  Andy also swam extremely well in our relays including a strong performance in the medley relay as our backstroker, and his 54 lead-off split in our free relay.  Cully Prout was an excellent relay performer, and showed us he has more speed than he admits by splitting a strong 25.46 in the 50 free.
